Trees is a 22 bedroom Residential Care Home, specialising in care for the elderly, including those living with dementia.
We are immensely proud of our commitment to caring for our elderly residents, we use a specific dependency tool to identify care needs and how they will be met, this ensures the accurate and appropriate staffing levels are met for the individual needs of our client group.
Trees is laid out over two floors with a passenger lift access to the first floor. The home has a TV lounge, a quiet lounge and dining room, as well as gardens to the front and rear of the building – residents are encouraged to join our gardening club to grow their own vegetables, plants and bedding baskets each season. There is ample car parking to the front of the building
Our residents have the option to choose the décor in their own rooms and are actively encouraged to personalise their rooms to their own taste and requirements.
Trees is close to Pontefract town centre, the local hospital and dentist and has access to 3 GP surgeries close by.

We constantly receive letters and cards from grateful residents and their relatives thanking us for our care. Here is a selection of the many received.
My 85-year-old Mother was admitted to Trees Residential home near the end of January 2017 for 1 weeks respite care following a fall in which she hurt her back and needed bed rest. She was beginning to show the early signs of dementia. After having to stay for 3 weeks she returned home and within 5 minutes insisted she wanted to go back “Home” (to Trees). Fortunately, there was space available and she was taken back in. 6 weeks later she was given a permanent place and over 2 years later she still resides permanently in the Trees Care Home.
The staff are pleasant and have the care of residents at heart. Whilst looking after and watching over the residents they still allow them their own independence.
Having our mother in the home has given my sister and I peace of mind knowing she is safe and well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending Trees to anyone looking for a care home.
I have been at trees for 18 years, I have grown with the company and have always been supported by staff/management in anything I have needed. We all receive Denestar training and are always supported if we need extra.
Working as a part of Denestar has helped my confidence grow and my knowledge expand so much so that I have managed to build myself up to be the deputy manager which I could never of done had it not been for the support of our fabulous team, and wonderful manager who has supported me from the day I started.
Trees is only a small home which makes us one big family this intern reflects our clients and their lives as they feel loved, safe and at home.
I am the Head Chef at ‘Trees’ Residential Nursing Home, Pontefract, and have held this position for almost 15 years. During this time, I can truly say without reservation, that both staff and management here have an excellent raport and understanding, to the point that it feels like a ‘home from home’ to the residents, and this atmosphere reflects on both residents and their families alike, resulting in excellent feedback., this creating a great working environment for all staff.
Each resident is treated with dignity and respect, with their individual needs taken into consideration on a daily basis, giving them both the confidence and assurance to look forward to each day, feeling comfortable and secure in their environment.
I can truly say that of all the positions I have been employed in, this has to be the most satisfying of all. ‘Trees’ has a family atmosphere which has to be experienced to be appreciated. If the coming years are as enjoyable for me as the past 15 have, then I look forward to each day.
My mother was taken into ‘Trees’ Residential Nursing Home in 2011 until 2019, when, at the age of 100yrs, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and members of staff at ‘Trees’ who had cared for her during that time.
The care and attention my mother was shown by staff there was always of the highest standard, which, in turn, gave our family the comfort of knowing they had made the correct decision in choosing ‘Trees’ as the Nursing Home which would care for our mother.
Everyone from Managers to carers showed professionalism in their approach to issues/questions raised, and these issues were subsequently dealt with professionally and expeditiously. Everyone was approachable and genuine.
My family and I believe the care, love, and commitment shown to my mother by staff at ‘Trees’ was a contributing factor to her reaching the age she did, in a happy, homely, caring, and comfortable environment.
