Our Principles Of Care

  • We are committed to ensuring our team of careers are fully trained to ensure the continuity and delivery of second to none care.
  • We are committed to ensuring each person is responded to as an individual in their own right and not as a group and that his/her own unique personality, strengths, needs and perspectives are top priority.
  • We ensure that each individual’s rights are respected and not infringed and that our service users utilise their rights fully.
  • We ensure that service user’s choices are respected at all times and that they are given encouragement and support with their choices.
  • We ensure that services users privacy and dignity is respected at all times and that everyone is treated in a manner which safeguard privacy and dignity and which does not cause or have the potential to cause embarrassment, humiliation or cause personal/emotional discomfort.
  • We ensure that our service users are given access to sufficient and correct information to support them making choices.
  • We ensure that service users continue to maintain their independence, empowering them as individuals to be involved in the day to day activity within the home. Encouraging service users to learn new skills to increase independence, to only assist with the things the individuals find difficult to lesson the likelihood of an individual becoming unnecessarily dependant.
  • We ensure that consideration is shown to all individuals and to demonstrate through actions and attitudes that people are worthy of respect. That opinions, values and achievements are valued.
  • We ensure that the primary care values are met at all times: privacy, dignity, individuality, independence, confidentiality, right, empowerment, choice and fulfilment of client group.

Willerfoss Care House

Willerfoss House was converted into a residential care home, catering for the elderly and those with dementia, some thirty years ago. It stands at the foot of Victoria Avenue in Withernsea in a very peaceful location, yet it is close enough to all of the amenities and activity of a traditional coastal resort for access for our elderly residents.

The home has 24 bedrooms and is situated on two floors with a chair lift to the first floor. We have eight ensuite rooms, three lounges (one sensory/activity) and two dining rooms with lovely well kept gardens; which our residents, via the gardening club, help to up-keep along with our dedicated maintenance operative Matt Hudson.

The manager of Willerfoss House, Jayne Clarke, has worked at the home since shortly after leaving school. Jayne came to Willerfoss House as a trainee care assistant, and has over the years, consistently improved her knowledge and skills to care for the elderly. To this end, Jayne has worked through the various ranks of care assistant, senior care assistant, supervisor and deputy manager to finally becoming the Registered Manager in 1999; all with the determination, commitment and hard work of someone who demonstrates her true passion for caring for the elderly. Jayne leads her team with great positivity and the low turnover of staff at Willerfoss House is testimony to her leadership skills. Jayne is supported by 2 Care Team Managers, a team of experienced and passionate care leaders and an excellent team of dedicated carers. Our staff complete regular training sessions in various subjects, both mandatory and none mandatory, in order to assure our residents of the best level of care and meet the diverse and individual needs of our resident group - please see our training section in  'about us' on the home page.

All of the managers within the Denestar group are trained to RMA (Reistered Managers Award - Level 4) and hold various other appropriate qualifications , such as Train the Trainer; this ensures that we have the facility to keep our staff group up-dated on new training requirements in order to fulfil each of their respective roles to an optimum level.

Willerfoss House has been rated 'GOOD' by the CQC in February 2016
