Our Principles Of Care

  • We are committed to ensuring our team of careers are fully trained to ensure the continuity and delivery of second to none care.
  • We are committed to ensuring each person is responded to as an individual in their own right and not as a group and that his/her own unique personality, strengths, needs and perspectives are top priority.
  • We ensure that each individual’s rights are respected and not infringed and that our service users utilise their rights fully.
  • We ensure that service user’s choices are respected at all times and that they are given encouragement and support with their choices.
  • We ensure that services users privacy and dignity is respected at all times and that everyone is treated in a manner which safeguard privacy and dignity and which does not cause or have the potential to cause embarrassment, humiliation or cause personal/emotional discomfort.
  • We ensure that our service users are given access to sufficient and correct information to support them making choices.
  • We ensure that service users continue to maintain their independence, empowering them as individuals to be involved in the day to day activity within the home. Encouraging service users to learn new skills to increase independence, to only assist with the things the individuals find difficult to lesson the likelihood of an individual becoming unnecessarily dependant.
  • We ensure that consideration is shown to all individuals and to demonstrate through actions and attitudes that people are worthy of respect. That opinions, values and achievements are valued.
  • We ensure that the primary care values are met at all times: privacy, dignity, individuality, independence, confidentiality, right, empowerment, choice and fulfilment of client group.

Trees Care Home

Trees Care Home is a 22 bedroom residential care home caring  for the elderly and those with dementia. Denestar Limited took over ownership in April 2006. Since opening in April 1989 until January 2009, Trees Care Home was managed by Marilyn Higgins, a registered nurse. Under Marilyn's leadership 2 of the staff from the opening in 1989 are still with us and quite a number of other staff members have been with us for over a decade. We are very proud of our low staff turnover as this demonstrates great commitment to caring for our elderly residents.   We follow the Care Quality Commission residential forum (staff calculus) to determine accurate staffing levels for the individual needs of our client group.

Marilyn was promoted within the group in January 2009 to Group Manager and now oversees the cohesive operation of the homes within our small group, whislt remaining as  the Registered Manager of  Trees Residential Care Home and with the unwavering support of Samanatha Garside (Deputy Manager) Marilyn continues to share her knowledge and expertise with her colleagues. Marilyn has compelted 'train the trainer' PTTLS and has a vast knowlege and excellent delivery methods to ensure that best practise is always afforded our service users.

All of the managers within the Denestar group are trained to RMA (Reistered Managers Award - Level 4) and hold various other appropriate qualifications , such as Train the Trainer; this ensures that we have the facility to keep our staff group up-dated on new training requirements in order to fulfil each of their respective roles to an optimum level.

Trees Care Home is laid out on two floors with a passenger lift to the first floor, a TV lounge, a sensory lounge, dining room and three main bathrooms along with toilets in various areas of the builing. There are gardens to the front and rear of the building with car parking to the front. Our residents have the option to choose the decor in their own rooms and are actively encouraged to personalise their rooms to their own taste and requirements.

Our person centred care ethos is our main strength and we are very proud of the positive feedback we regualrly receive telling us that peoples lives have improved since their move to our home. Please see our events pages for further information. The daily lives of our residents is decided by them, they hold regular residents meetings with a little help from our dedicated activity co-ordinator, they plan our monthly, weekly and daily activities. These consist of trips to local attractions or further afield, indoor and outdoor events, hobbies and pastimes; incuding clubs, such as knitting, baking, gardening, reading and much more; see our activites planner on our events page for more information
